Man signs 'THIEF' on stolen debit card receipts used to buy iPhone

The unnamed 36-year-old suspect who lives in the city of Butler, Pennsylvania, was located Tuesday by local police, Captain James Hollobaugh told DailyMail.com. 'My whole life got flipped by this,' she wrote The captain confirmed to DailyMail.com that cops at one point were poised to charge a different man, but backed off when investigators discovered that his name had been falsely used by the real suspect to purchase the iPhone.  The unauthorized debit card purchases were reported by Joei Thompson, who said she gave the suspect a ride home after leaving the Chestnut Street Inn around 1 a.m. on Aug. 5, police said. Dailymail.com has reached out to Thompson, who according to her Facebook page lives in Butler and is the manager of a hair salon. Cops investigating the theft discovered that Thompson's debit card, stolen from the purse, was used at a local Metro PCS to buy a $200 iPhone, and later at a convenience store to buy $43 worth of beer and cigarettes <b><u>Police say the suspect was well-known to them. </u></b> <b>'We've had prior contact with him,' Hollobaugh said, declining to give more specifics.</b>   Advertisement
